Cat Passport
The heart of Kattenkamer: one profile per cat that every tool uses automatically. Everything stays safely in your own browser.
Creating a digital cat passport: how it works
Where was your cat’s date of birth again? What was the microchip number, and when is the next vaccination due? With Kattenkamer’s free cat passport you put all that information in one place: name, photo, date of birth, sex, breed, coat colour, weight, microchip number, vet and the complete vaccination overview. You fill in the passport in two minutes and have it to hand from then on — on your phone, tablet or computer.
The passport is more than a reference card. It’s the engine behind the whole site: every tool on Kattenkamer reads the profile automatically. The cat age calculator instantly knows the date of birth, the cat horoscope knows the star sign, and the result of the personality test is neatly stored with your cat. Got more than one cat? No problem — you create a separate passport for each and switch the active cat with a single click.
Privacy: everything stays in your browser
Important to know: you don’t have to create an account and nothing is sent to a server. All data is stored locally in your own browser (localStorage). So we can’t access it — and neither can anyone else. Want a backup, or to take your cats to another browser or a new device? Use the export button: you download a JSON file that you can import again later. Handy to do now and then, so your data is never lost.
Is a digital cat passport the same as an EU pet passport?
No. The official EU pet passport is only issued by your vet and is required when you travel abroad with your cat. This digital cat passport is a handy personal overview for home: all your cat’s details together, including vaccinations and tool results. It does not replace official documents.
Does my cat need to be microchipped and registered?
A chip isn’t legally required for every cat in every country, but it is strongly recommended — a chipped and registered cat that wanders off is reunited with its owner far more quickly. Note the microchip number in the passport so you always have it ready. For kittens this is usually arranged at the first round of vaccinations; in the kitten planneryou’ll find the complete schedule.
Can I add several cats?
Yes, you can create as many passports as you have cats. One cat is the ‘active cat’: that’s the one automatically used by the other tools. You switch with a single click, at the top of every tool or in the passport overview.
What happens to my data if I clear my browser history?
If you clear the site data (cookies and storage) for kattenkamer.nl, the passports disappear too. So download a backup now and then via the export button — you can import it again in one go later.
