A free online cat course — why you train the owner

‘Raising’ a cat works differently from raising a dog. Cats don’t learn through obedience, but through association: what feels good, they do more often; what feels unpleasant, they avoid. That is why this online cat course flips things around. Your cat doesn’t go to school — you learn how your cat thinks, communicates and learns. Once you can read tail positions, ear postures and the slow blink, you prevent most ‘problem behaviour’ before it even starts. Scratching, spraying, night-time meowing: in nine out of ten cases it isn’t defiance, but a cat trying to make something clear to an owner who doesn’t yet speak the language.

What you learn in the 10 micro-courses

Each course consists of five short lessons of about three minutes, with key points and a mini-assignment you can do the same day. You start wherever you like: reading cat language, the first 30 days with a new cat, playing like a pro, clicker training, stress-free vet visits, understanding problem behaviour, setting up a cat-friendly home, nutrition, recognising health signals and the multi-cat household. Your progress is saved per course in your browser and linked to your cat passport — finish all the lessons and you earn a diploma. Not sure where to begin? Take the personality testfirst to discover your cat’s character.

A note for English readers

The lessons themselves are written in Dutch (each course is marked with 🇳🇱). The titles and summaries above are in English so you can choose the right course, and your browser’s translation handles the lessons well if you want to follow them in full.

Are the courses really free?

Yes, all ten courses are completely free — no account, no email address and no strings attached. Your progress lives only in your own browser.

How long does one course take?

About 15 minutes per course: five lessons of roughly three minutes each. You can stop along the way — the course remembers where you were. Want one practical tip in your inbox each week? Sign up for The Purr Post (in Dutch 🇳🇱), our free newsletter.

Does this replace a behaviour therapist or vet?

No. The courses are educational and general. For persistent problem behaviour or any doubt about your cat’s health, always consult a vet or a cat behaviour therapist.
