The weekly tour of the cat world from Kattenkamer.nl
Meow! 🐾Welcome to this week full of purrings. We’ll keep it short — your cat is waiting for attention, after all.
📰 News of the week
Researchers confirmed once more what cat owners secretly already knew: the slow eye blink works. In the study, cats approached people more often and more quickly when those people first looked at them calmly and blinked slowly. Try it from the sofa tonight — and count how long it takes before a cat is in your lap.
💡 Tip of the week
Try moving the food bowl and water bowl apart. Cats naturally don’t drink next to their prey, and a water bowl in a new spot (windowsill, hallway) gets many cats drinking more right away. Bonus for the enthusiast: a wide, shallow bowl — many cats hate whiskers touching the rim.
📸 Photo contest winner
The theme was ‘cats in boxes that are clearly too small’, and the winner was tomcat Bommel, who had pressed himself with great dignity into a size-5 shoebox. The jury (us, with coffee) was unanimous. Next week: ‘the worst-timed yawn’.
🆕 New on Kattenkamer
Ten brand-new micro-courses are live — from reading cat language to a peaceful multi-cat household. Fifteen minutes per course, a diploma for the owner included.

No walls of text, no daily emails and certainly no spam: short, useful and with a wink.
You won’t miss anything between editions: the latest cat news is on the site day and night, and anyone who wants to dig deeper can turn to the ten free micro-courses. The Purrery is the summary for busy owners — the rest of Kattenkamer is there for the depth.
